Back Home – Returning Football Clubs to Their Communities |
This pamphlet co-authored by Malcolm McClean, Dr. Christine Oughton, Peter Hunt and Cliff Mills, makes recommendations to government and sporting bodies to enable greater community ownership of the professional game.
Speaking at the launch event in London’s Living Room, the Mayor of London’s new headquarters, Mr McClean said “All over the Country our stadia are characterised by brick walls, barbed wire, padlocks and gates. Everything about them says ‘keep out’. It is time to re-invent these underused assets so that everything about them says ‘come in’. The smallest club in England has the biggest idea for regeneration and social inclusion. So what are we waiting for”?
